Boxer's Power trip!

During a recent hearing of the senate's Environment and Public Works Committee; where General Walsh US Army was testifying. General Walsh began answering a question with "ma'am". Senator Boxer immediately interrupted him before he could finish. "You know, do me a favor," a clearly agitated Boxer said, "Could you say 'Senator' instead of 'ma'am?"

"Yes, ma'am," Walsh replied.

"It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you," she said.

"Yes, Senator," he answered.

The great and mighty Senator Boxer is not a ma'am, she has worked hard for her title? Really I thought the people of the Great State of California gave her that title, it seems that Senator Boxer has forgotten just how she came to have that title and just who she is accountable to. Lets take a look here, does she practice what she preaches? Check out this youtube video that clearly shows Senator Boxer often fails to call other Senators, Governors, and even the President by their proper professional titles. So what gives her the right to interupt a General that was just being respectful to her. A General who by the way truly did earn his title. Talk about a power trip!!!

Tidal School Vineyards

If your in Oklahoma and traveling between Oklahoma City and Tulsa and have some free time for a small excursion theres a wonderful wine vineyard a short drive off of Route 66 in Drumright Oklahoma. We had the pleasure of stopping there on our way back from our trip to The Christmas Train at Dry Gulch, USA. http://www.christmastrain.com/ As you pull into the small dirt parking lot, before you is a beautiful old red brick school, with a bell tower on the roof and lush green vineyards covering the field in back. It is a screen right off a postcard. Upon entering the foray, the first thing you will noticed is the gorgeous hardwood floors, then you walk up a couple of stairs and down a large hallway. Lovely art work and old fashion pictures line the walls creating and then and now feeling. Then you arrived to the tasting room, it has a very California winery feeling with an Oklahoma flavor. On the wall behind the tasting bar are a collection of clocks all having wine themes, but set to different times, each one representing winery's around the world. Your greeted by a very sweet and knowledgeable hostess, at any given time they have between 18 and 24 selections for your sampling pleasure, even the most harden wine enthusiast will find something pleasing to their pallet. Here are my favorites:

Dry Whites: Oklahoma Chardonnay

Dry Reds: Impressao

Semi-Sweet & Sweet: 1. Oklahoma Sunset 2. Tidal Estate White Cab Franc '06 Blush

The Reserve: Oklahoma Shiraz

Cordial: Cherry Chocolate Cordial

Desert Wine: Cherry Gusher

So for a tasting advanture, and a peace ful getaway this is the place to go! you can visit their website at http://www.tidalschool.com/

Until next time may your glasses always be full!!

Transport Back In Time

Sitting on the edge of the dam, the year is 1996, our bare feet splashing in the cool water; Collective Soul blasting from the car stereo, parked on the dirt road next to the lake as the summer sun baked our skin.
Every time I hear the song "December" I'm transported back to a time gone bye but not forgotten. A moment in time when I had no cares or worries, just enjoying hanging with friends, the summer sun, and of course the music.
Music the only true time machine. Is it not awesome, how a song can bring back a memory or a feeling lost in time. Well it is time to make new memories to new songs by Collective Soul. They are on tour now, check out their tour dates and venues at http://www.collectivesoul.com/live/
Collective Soul is awesome, great music, a wonderful group of guys. They even follow all their fans back on twitter, you can follow them at http://www.twitter.com/collective_soul They even debuted their new single"Staring Down" I totally love it,via Twitter. I cant wait to catch them Live when they get to Oklahoma. These guys are the best and they truly like connecting with their Fans, and that is not something that you will get from most bands. Collective Soul is a pearl in the sea of bands.

To Refollow Or Not To Refollow?

Twitter Etiquette.

To refollow or not to refollow that is the question? Do you refollow everyone that follows you?

For me when I get new followers I go to each one of theirs' Twitter page, read their bio, check out their sites, and read their recent tweets. if I find that I have something in common with them then I refollow them. Regardless of whether or not I refollow my followers I send a direct message to all thankingthem for following me. I'm in no way saying anything bad about those I do not refollow just that I do not see a connection with them. Most of my followers I do refollow. Mind you I do not have tons of followers I only have a few. So My question to the twitters that have hugh followings iswhat is your rule of thumb when it comes to refollowing your followers?

Murder or Self Defense

May 19th in My hometown of Oklahoma City, there was shooting at a pharmacy. Two teens tryed to rob the pharmacy. The pharmacist Jerome Ersland pulled a gun shooting the first teen in the head and chased the other out the door. Mr Ersland then returned and pulled another gun out from under the counter and shot the unconscious teen in the gut 5 more times. The debate is was he just defending himself or did he go to far and commit murder.

Under Oklahoma's "Make My Day Law" — passed in the late 1980s— people can use deadly force when they feel threatened by an intruder inside their homes. In 2006, Oklahoma's "Stand Your Ground Law" extended that to anywhere a citizen has the right to be, such as a car or their office.

So the question stands was he within his right? I said No it was murder theres no ifs ands or buts about it. Hey I am all for the 2nd Amendment, we all have the right to bare arms. I'll tell you what I will damn sure use deadly force if I'm in a situation that my life is in danger. However Mr Esrland was within rights at the start of the hold up once the teen was down and unarmed Mr Esrland was in no danger. The teenager was unconscious.

What he did is MURDER!!!

Supreme Court nominee

Many times Ive said in a joking matter that I'm smarter then most men, however I was referring to ALL men. If I had ever said I'm smarter then Latino men then I would have been labeled a raciest.
Webster defines Racism as: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism
Hummm now what was it Sotomayor said? Sotomayor said, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” That is one of the most racist things I have ever heard. Yes I have read the whole Lecture: ‘A Latina Judge’s Voice’http://rt.nu/osqy sure I get it she had a hard life I'm sorry but so has 90% of Americans. Question, does her understanding of hard times and being a minority make her a better Judge.
A Judge is there to rule on cases based on the Letter of the law, not on emotional understanding.
what is a Supreme Court Justices suppose to do? To check and make sure the lower court judges have ruled based on the letter of the law. When there is not a clear cut case their job is to interpret the laws and the Constitution of the United States of America as our four fathers meant it to mean!
My question is will she interpret these laws the same for all races?
Not from what I have seen of her thus far. I feel sorry for anyone that is in her court that is not Latino.

Socialistic Society

Are we becoming a socialistic society? It would seem we are on a direct path to it. When our government starts running companies that it has no business running ie General Motors
then that's what were headed for, how can the government run a bankrupted company when it can not manage this country's money.I mean think about it,this country is in debt by trillions what makes the government think it can run a company any better. If the company fails it fails the owner lives and learns, then start over.Conflict of interest anyone??? Free Enterprise not Government run enterprise.
