Murder or Self Defense

May 19th in My hometown of Oklahoma City, there was shooting at a pharmacy. Two teens tryed to rob the pharmacy. The pharmacist Jerome Ersland pulled a gun shooting the first teen in the head and chased the other out the door. Mr Ersland then returned and pulled another gun out from under the counter and shot the unconscious teen in the gut 5 more times. The debate is was he just defending himself or did he go to far and commit murder.

Under Oklahoma's "Make My Day Law" — passed in the late 1980s— people can use deadly force when they feel threatened by an intruder inside their homes. In 2006, Oklahoma's "Stand Your Ground Law" extended that to anywhere a citizen has the right to be, such as a car or their office.

So the question stands was he within his right? I said No it was murder theres no ifs ands or buts about it. Hey I am all for the 2nd Amendment, we all have the right to bare arms. I'll tell you what I will damn sure use deadly force if I'm in a situation that my life is in danger. However Mr Esrland was within rights at the start of the hold up once the teen was down and unarmed Mr Esrland was in no danger. The teenager was unconscious.

What he did is MURDER!!!

Supreme Court nominee

Many times Ive said in a joking matter that I'm smarter then most men, however I was referring to ALL men. If I had ever said I'm smarter then Latino men then I would have been labeled a raciest.
Webster defines Racism as: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism
Hummm now what was it Sotomayor said? Sotomayor said, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” That is one of the most racist things I have ever heard. Yes I have read the whole Lecture: ‘A Latina Judge’s Voice’http://rt.nu/osqy sure I get it she had a hard life I'm sorry but so has 90% of Americans. Question, does her understanding of hard times and being a minority make her a better Judge.
A Judge is there to rule on cases based on the Letter of the law, not on emotional understanding.
what is a Supreme Court Justices suppose to do? To check and make sure the lower court judges have ruled based on the letter of the law. When there is not a clear cut case their job is to interpret the laws and the Constitution of the United States of America as our four fathers meant it to mean!
My question is will she interpret these laws the same for all races?
Not from what I have seen of her thus far. I feel sorry for anyone that is in her court that is not Latino.

Socialistic Society

Are we becoming a socialistic society? It would seem we are on a direct path to it. When our government starts running companies that it has no business running ie General Motors
then that's what were headed for, how can the government run a bankrupted company when it can not manage this country's money.I mean think about it,this country is in debt by trillions what makes the government think it can run a company any better. If the company fails it fails the owner lives and learns, then start over.Conflict of interest anyone??? Free Enterprise not Government run enterprise.

New to Blogging

I'm a 29 year old .... well Ive been 29 for about 8 years now lol . As a blogger I'm just a baby. I spent all day today setting up my blogging page to start blogging, the problem being I haven't a clue what to blog about. Sure I can blog on my views of world events or movies, who knows what? except most of the time I'm not always sure how I feel about the things going on around me. or do I? Ive been told that I do have opinions and views on things but I'm afraid to voice these because I would be going against what I was raised to believe... so I'm sitting here unable to sleep and I'm thinking about this. The wise man who said this to me is to often more times right than wrong which can be Very irritating! however I happen to be in love with him so what can I do. hummm maybe listen once in awhile wouldn't hurt lol nuh what fun would that be...

Back to this opinion that I can think for myself. if this is true and I can tell you even I'm starting to believe it... why do you think I never wanted to voice my views? is it that I'm afraid to disappoint my family or am I afraid that what I have to say is a bunch of nonsense... or maybe I never believe that my opinion mattered... then one day about 3 years ago someone (that same irritating gorgeous man) starting making me think about what I truly thought. whenever I would reply "that I didn't know" he'd call me on it, I would then give some short reply in which he would ask me why I thought that? and I would find myself repeating something my mother had told me. hummm am I thinking for myself? not back then no, I would stay out controversial topics unless pushed and then I would just parrot what I had heard my mother say. Now mind you I am not saying my mother is wrong her opinion is her opinion. Im just learning that what I believe and where I stand is different than what I grew up understanding to be the only right opinions.

So the question now is have I always believed in the views that my family has or have I always looked at things differently. I think maybe some of both and neither.
Now do I finally stand on my own two feet so to speak and start voicing my opinions????

The Answer is Yes and this blog will be my mountain top in which to broadcast my opinions from.... stay tuned for more from the BrandyZone
